Access Statement

Park Description

The park is located just one mile from Tenby and one and a half from Saundersfoot, and nestles in beautiful countryside 100 yards from the main A478 Tenby road. The park has a very slight slope but this does not compromise access.

Public Transport

There is a regular bus service from New Hedges village. This goes to both Tenby and Saundersfoot. The services run all day until approximately 10pm, depending on the day and the time of the season. There are also connections to other attractions in the area. The main railway station is in Tenby.

Taxis

There are various taxi firms which are based in Tenby - in Tudor Square, at the railway and bus terminals.

Food and Provisions

There is a convenience store and post office in New Hedges village, with Sainsbury's in Tenby, the Co-op at Kilgetty and Tesco and Asda in Pembroke Dock.

Car Parking

There is parking immediately by reception at the Park entrance and also by the games room. There is a dedicated disabled parking space by the bar entrance.

Pitches

We offer a variety of pitches for touring caravans, tents and holiday caravans with excellent views of the surrounding countryside and parking is allowed by the majority of pitches on the park. Some holiday caravans have their own tarmac parking bay alongside the caravan. All touring and tent pitches are on ground level.

Roads

Safety is of paramount importance and there are signs around the park indicating the 5mph speed limit. There is a marked speed ramp at the park entrance which has a gap at the side allowing safe access for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, pushchairs and pedestrians. All park roads are tarmaced.

Reception

There is a small step into reception which is the base of the upvc door. We do not have an induction loop but are always willing to help people who are deaf or hard of hearing - we can give written information in the form of our brochure or by writing the appropriate information required by the customer. Reception has a desk which is wheelchair height friendly, rather than a high counter. When reception is closed there is an emergency numbers sign in the window.

Amenities

The bar has a small step - approx 75mm - at the entrance and then a step inside of approx 100mm. There are two toilets in the bar, one ladies and one gents situated at the entrance. The bar is very spacious with easy mobility inside. The games room and launderette have a small step due to the door frame. In the launderette the washing machine, tumble dryer and hand washing sink are at standard height. There is one step into the toilet block, and the showers have a small dropped step from the dressing area where there is a seat to aid dressing and drying. There is no step to the washing up sinks which are at normal work-top height.

Access to caravans

Due to the topography of the park each holiday caravan has 2-4 steps. Most caravans have spacious interiors.

Mobile Phone coverage

The park has good coverage for Orange and Vodafone, the other networks have patchy coverage but the visitors car park has the best coverage for them. When booking we will be pleased to discuss your personal requirements and if you feel that you need help at any time during your visit, or upon arrival, then please mention this to a member of staff and we will be pleased to offer assistance.

Please note: Wood Park is not connected with any other Park in the vicinity.
